March 7-9, 2008 - Jekyll Island, Georgia
Business Meeting & Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance

Jekyll Island, GAThe first Business Meeting of the Rolls-Royce & Bentley Motor Club will be Saturday, March 8th after breakfast at the Jekyll Island Club, Historic District Jekyll Island, GA. We plan to adjourn by noon. An event registration form will be sent to you soon.

We have planned a fun weekend junket the following day on Sunday to the fantastic Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance.

Enjoy a weekend away from the crowds and the mainstream and you’ll get to see the charm and beauty that still exists off the beaten trail on Jekyll Island - we will be staying in the middle of the 240 acre, riverfront compound which is one of the largest ongoing restoration projects in the southeastern United States.

Arrive Friday in time for a huge dinner buffet including a Low Country Boil - a coastal tradition - where you can catch up with old friends and meet some new ones! There will be historic tours, delicious food and seeing sites dating back to the 1730’s - all at a leisurely pace after our Business Meeting is complete!

Described by Munsy’s Magazine in1904 as “the richest, the most exclusive and most inaccessible club in the world”, the historic Jekyll Island Club will be the hub for this fun fi lled weekend March 7th-9th. Founded in 1886, the Jekyll Island Club was the winter retreat for some of America’s most elite families. Jekyll Island Club rolls included such names as Morgan, Astor, Rockefeller, Vanderbilt and Pulitzer. On this southern member of the Sea Islands, they shaped a private world of grand cottage residences around a Queen Anne-style clubhouse. When making your reservations, you might consider the Cherokee Cottage or Crane Cottage for your quarters - both are within the hotel compound.

Jekyll Island, GAWe will be located only an hour from Amelia Island, those who would like to attend the RM Classic Car Auction at the Ritz Carlton Saturday afternoon will enjoy the drive along the coast. Dinner Saturday evening (gentleman, coat and tie please) will be in the Grand Dining Room - where you may be eating at J.P. Morgan’s table, or William Rockefeller’s, or John Jacob Astor’s! Neat, huh? Sunday we’ve chartered a bus to take us door to door for the fantastic motorcar exhibition - so, there’s no parking, waiting or walking!
